Ganpati birth and coming back to life story
Ganesha is also known as Ganesh, Vinayak [Ganpati or Ganesa] He is one of the main lords of Hinduism and people from all over India and some other countries also worship and believe in him. His figurine is an elephant's head with a curved trunk and a human body. Lord Ganesh is worshiped and known for Prosperity, Wisdom, Good Fortune, Destroy all your obstacles.
Ganesha is the son of Parvati and Shiva, he is the brother of Karthikeya. Earlier in times when Goddess Parvati and her husband Lord Shiva used to live on Kailash mountain in a small cottage, she used to feel very lonely and so she felt she needed a child that could take care of her and be there whenever she needed him. So, one day when she went to take a bath she took turmeric powder and she stood an innocent, loving boy in front of her. Her son was loving and caring towards her just like she wanted him. One day, when Parvati was going to bathe she had asked him to guard the gates and to not let anybody in until she had completed with her bath.
While she was having bath it so happened that Lord Shiva returned from his penance from Himalayas right when the boy was guarding the gate, little did he know that Shiva was his father and vice versa, i.e. the boy was his son. He stopped Shiva from entering the house and when he was asked why; he said, 'Mother has said to not let anybody inside the house till she is completed with her bath' As, Shiva was quick-tempered and he didn't like that he was denied from entering his own house. In an instant anger, he removed his trident [the weapon] and chopped off the head of the boy and set foot in the house.
Right after that, Parvati stepped out and she was damaged to see her son was lying dead on the floor. She told Shiva the relation and identity of the boy and requested Shiva to bring him to life. Shiva god is also known as Bhole Nath. The one who get angry easily and also get satisfied and happy earlier. Shiva god agreed to bring the boy to life but he told Parvati that, it's impossible for him to join the chopped head. Lord Shiva was really sad that he had out of anger cut off his son's head who was just trying to keep his mother's word and who loved his mother.

Shiva called his bull, Nandi and ordered her to bring back the head of a creature who is away from his mother because a creature away from his mother is the only one who would not love his mother. Nandi brought the head of an elephant calf. Shiva placed the head of the elephant and brought back the boy's life. Parvati was happy to see her son but she was worried that he would be made fun of for his out-of-the way presence. To ease her fears lord Shiva asked the other gods to bless their son. The gods blessed the by and Shiva named him as "Ganesha" or "Ganpati" which means "Lord of People" Other gods blessed him with the blessing that irrespective of the occasion people will worship him before starting any ritual, he was also blessed as the master of wisdom.
